Puntocash SA is a Spanish wholesale company of food and beverages. The company offers food products which include a variety of fruits, vegetables, all classes of ice creams, wines, cooking ingredients, meat, medicine, clothes, and other household products that are consumed regularly. It was incorporated in January 1993 with registered office address in Vilamalla. Puntocash operates in the wholesale distribution and retail self-service of daily consumer goods through 29 cash-and-carry establishments located in the Comunidades Autónomas de Cataluña (Independent Communities of Catalonia), Andalucía, Valencia, Madrid, Baleares, Aragón, Murcia, País Vasco and La Rioja. Puntocash is a part of Carrefour SA, the world's second-largest retailer based in France. Carrefour operates more than 12,000 stores under some two dozen names, including hypermarkets (Carrefour), supermarkets (Champion), convenience stores (Shopi, Marché Plus), discount stores (Dia, Ed), and cash-and-carry stores (Promocash) in about 30 countries in Europe, Latin America, and Asia. As of January 2006, the company was acquired by Miquel Alimentació Grup, S.A, an operator in the commercial and retail wholesale distribution, in regime of supermarket and daily consumer goods in Spain. Its wholesale activities are developed so much in the traditional format as through cash and carry establishments.
